Nonprofit hackathons, year-round.
CommonBuild is a marketplace where nonprofits post real problems and builder teams pick them up. One weekend, one working solution — run quarterly, monthly, or on demand.
Describe the problem
A nonprofit posts the operational problem they need solved — no tech background required. Think: intake forms, volunteer scheduling, grant dashboards.
Solvers self-select
Builder teams browse open problems and register interest on the ones that match their weekend. No vetting committees, no gatekeeping.
Ship in a weekend
Scope Friday, build Saturday, demo Sunday. The nonprofit leaves with a working tool, not a deck.

A $25k event, once a year, isn't the answer.
Traditional nonprofit hackathons cost around $25,000 and run once a year because they're rebuilt from scratch each time — venue, intake, scoping, matching, judging, follow-through.
CommonBuild is the operational backbone underneath. Community accelerators and individual nonprofits bring the mission; we amortize the machinery across every event, so the per-event cost drops by roughly 20×.
The unlock: community orgs can run four, eight, or twelve events a year for less than the cost of one.
